Patient Safety

To protect our patients and ourselves, our staff wears masks, gloves, glasses as well as fluid resistant clothing.  We strictly observe all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.  All of our instruments are placed in cassettes, then prewashed and sterilized as recommended by the American Dental Association and the Centers for Disease Control.  All of our handpieces are heat sterilized prior to use.  In addition, our sterilization system is checked on a weekly bases by an independent testing agency.  Disposable protective covers are used on chairs and many frequently used equipment.  Areas not protected by disposable covers are cleaned and disinfected after each patient. The water used in our dental delivery units are treated by the Stericil Water Treatment System. This system purifies and cleanses the water lines of aerobic mesophilic heterotrophic bacteria. We also insure that our lines are tested on a quarterly basis by on independent outside laboratory to insure that the purification system is working as advertised.

Patient Comfort

We believe that the more comfortable one feels, the more positive is their dental experience.  With that in mind, we have dedicated our practice in providing the utmost in patient comfort.  It starts with our facility.  Built in 1996, our office was specifically designed not to remind you of a dental office, but rather of a home.  Our waiting area has deep leather sofas and chairs with a fire place and current popular periodicals.  If you would like a cup of coffee or juice, just ask and we will be glad to provide it.  When you get to the operatory, you will be offered blankets, heated neck rests, and a set of headphones.  You can listen to Compact Disks, your favorite radio station, or you can watch a movie or TV Program on televisions located above your dental chair.  And at the end of the appointment, relax and refresh yourself with a moist warm towel and an Otis Spunkmeyer cookie.
